Chris Thorman - Student Pastor
E-mail Chris
Greetings!  My name is Chris Thorman, and I am the youth pastor here at FBC Idabel.  I have been married to my beautiful wife Crystal since April 2005.  We don't have children, but we do have two Great Danes, Jericho and Jade.  We started our ministry in Fort Smith, AR where we served as youth pastor at Temple Baptist Church for 3 years.  We moved to Idabel in May of 2008 and have served here faithfully ever since.  I am currently enrolled in my second year of seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in pursuit of a Master's Degree in Divinity with an emphasis in either pastoral counseling or church history.

My passion is seeing students come to know to Christ as Lord and Savior.  However, my greatest passion in student ministry is helping students understand it doesn't just end at that one time decision but Jesus tells us we must, "deny ourself, take up our cross, and follow Him daily."  Salvation is a life-long committment to God through Jesus.  Once students understand they must walk daily with the Lord, we try to encourage them to spend time in prayer, bible study, and fellowship with other Christians.

Romans 12:1-2  Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
