Expressed Grace

Grace received but unexpressed is dead grace.

Believers are to live each day in God’s grace. His grace is ours to live in, let’s live in it. When we learn to live each day by His grace that is when it becomes amazing grace. God’s grace must be a lifelong pursuit. Paul testifies of God’s grace 1Cor 15:9-10. He owed everything in his life to the Grace of God; we need to reaffirm that in our lives.

An example of Grace; in the ancient world whenever a new king had come into power, all those in the family of the previous king were exterminated. Read 2Samuel 4:1-4 we leave the little boy as a five year old crippled child.

Grace displayed 2Samuel 9.

    1. David was overwhelmed by the grace of God.
    2. A question 1-3
    3. A straggler sought 5-7
    4. I would wager that Mephibosheth did not want to be found, especially by David.
    5. David in verse 7 tells him to not be afraid.  Jesus’ most often repeated command. IT DRIPS WITH GRACE
    6. With Mephibosheth trembling David tells him “ I intend to show you kindness”
    7. A privilege provided 7c  this is the message of Grace, because of the Son, God intends on showing His children kindness.

11-13 Imagine this scene:

Amnon seated to the right of his dad, Tamar beside her brother Amnon, in comes young Solomon the future heir of the throne; next to him would be Absalom, next to him Joab the commander of the king’s army. All are seated ready to enjoy the meal, but not all of the guest have arrived there is still an empty seat next to the king himself, about that time you hear the shuffling of feet, the clump, clump, clump of crutches. In comes the one who all have been waiting for Mephibosheth and he takes his place that had been issued to him from the king himself. I ask you, did Mephibosheth understand Grace?
