The Hunter and the Hunted

The Hunter and the Hunted

Have you ever been around a person who has a passion for hunting? One of my dearest friends has a passion for both deer and turkey hunting. He has the keen ability to locate where the deer are, and the ability to close the deal when the opportunity arises. He and I have hunted together for the last six years, I have learned a lot by observing some of his tactics. One thing I have learned is how he has developed this ability to get what he is after.

When I read Luke 19:10 I see the greatest hunter of all times, a man who is on mission for souls. Jesus clarifies what His purpose was while on earth. He came to seek, that is to diligently pursue, those who are lost. Not only was His mission to seek the lost, but also to save them. Save them from what? From condemnation, judgment, the wrath of God and hell. Jesus would hunt down lost people for the purpose of offering them eternal life and forgiveness of sin. Jesus is the epitome of what a hunter should be.

Scriptures for Application:

Matthew 28:18-20 Read this passage thoroughly and soak up each word. What is Jesus commissioning the believer to do?

Acts 1:8 Where does our power for witnessing come from?

Action: Ask God to give you a passion to tell people about Christ. Then go and share with all the Good News of Jesus!!!
