Hot Pursuit

How many of you remember the television series “The Dukes of Hazard”? It was an action series there were two young men who were good ole country boys, yet always in trouble with the law. The sheriff’s name was Roscoe, each time he would get after the Duke boys; he would say he was in “hot pursuit”. There would be times when he would catch them and many times he did not. But Roscoe was persistent in his pursuit of them.

Now Pastor what has this to do with my walk with the Lord? Well maybe there is a principle we need to learn. We as believers are to be in pursuit of the Lord Jesus Christ. His desire for His people is for them to be seeking Him whole heartily. Paul had one goal in life according to Scripture, he wanted to know the Lord. In order for us to know the Lord we have to be in “hot pursuit” of Him. So how strong are you pursuing Jesus in your life?
