Saved to Serve

There are many passages of Scripture that seem to kind of reach down into the soul of a Christian. Passages like John 3:16 “for God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life”. You see this passage in a multitude of places and events around the world. My boys and I were watching a football game and noticed a sign that had John 3:16 written on it. There are some important words in this verse words like God, loved, His Son, whoever, believes, and eternal life. Yes all these words are very important, but I believe there is a word that is often overlooked. So many times we forget that God gave His precious Son. The word carries the idea of a gift, the ultimate gift in this sense. To think that the God of heaven would give His unblemished Son for a wretch like me breaks my heart. But that is what He has done. He has made it possible for all of man to be saved if they would turn to Him in faith and repentance. Some of you are reading this and you have given your life to Him, and you are asking what do I do now? I am glad you asked, the bible tells us who have been saved what to do. Take your bible and turn to 2Corinthians 5:15 and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you how to live for the One who gave His life for you!!!

Scriptures to Read:

Galatians 2:20: What does this scripture teaches us about living?

Joshua 24:14-15: Who does Joshua teach us to serve?

Action: Thank God for choosing to live in your life and ask Him to fill your life with His presence.
